As of 5:20 a.m. Friday, May 2, the Great Egg Harbor River water level continued to rise slowly as a result of runoff caused by Wednesday’s 3-inch rainfall, the National Weather Service said.

Minor flooding is expected to continue into Saturday.

The flood warning means that flooding is occurring, the National Weather Service said. However, the water level is expected to rise slowly, so flash flooding is not expected.

Residents in flood-prone areas of the Great Egg River are advised to take precautions.

At 5 a.m. Friday, May 2, the Great Egg River was at 6.08 inches at Folsom, or .08 inches into a minor flood stage.
