It was a glorious afternoon, and members arrived early to get the room in shape for the happenings.

This year saw the largest attendance for the event, fund chairwoman Rita Fulginiti said in her welcoming remarks.

While there we met Larry and Sandy Brown from Phillipsburg who were dressed in their ’60s garb, peace signs and all. They have been coming to the Wildwoods since the concerts began. We also met Laura Walton from Delaware who never stopped dancing the entire night. Fran Cooper, another regular who comes for the weekend, posed for a picture with Dave and Lori Roach, who are in charge of the event, along with executive director Tracey DuFault, Harry Posternock and Charlie Davis, who is the entertainment agent for the chamber. He flew in from Los Angeles for the weekend. Last year we lost Mike Posternock and he was always very active with the chamber events. So it was a very bittersweet moment seeing one of his brothers helping for the weekend.

Super Bowl Sunday has turned out to be a very busy time in the Wildwoods.

It is always preceded on Saturday night by the Wildwood Crest Fire Company’s annual Ladies Night and this year was no exception, but before that event my husband and I were also invited to a surprise party at the home of EJ and Tracey Dougherty. They were hosting a birthday party for Jennifer Konides who has just turned 50, and she was surprised.

Jodie has made the big time.
Jodie has made the big time.

Jodie DiEduardo, vice president of Crest Savings Bank, turned 50 Jan. 2 and every parking meter surrounding Crest Savings Bank had a “Jodie’s turning 50” sign.

Everyone in the bank was wearing a name tag that that also said “Jodie’s turning 50” and she was greeted in her office on the second floor of the bank with balloons and over the hill signs and best wishes from her colleagues.

Lois Tomalino, Bonnie Lynch, Barbara Tomalino, Dotty Hentges, Marion Sandman and Kathy Randle with Lady Liberty in New York City. Recently, I was able to attend two theater productions: The first in Wildwood Crest at Crest Memorial School and the other on Broadway to see the Tony award-winning play “Once.” To be perfectly honest, the production of “The Little Mermaid” at Crest was so much fun, I liked it better than Broadway. The sets were done by Mary O’Donnell along with the help of many. The fabulous costumes were made by Cathy Toland, a teacher at the school, and her daughter, Brittany, along with Melissa Raucci and Jean Wotring.

Recently two organizations in the Wildwoods held their annual fashion shows with fall and winter clothes as the center of attention.

Beth Judah Temple on Pacific Avenue in Wildwood had its show at the Temple and more than 70 members and friends came out for a sunny autumn day. At this show the clothes were provided by “Bellanova” of Stone Harbor under the eye of owner Cathy Schaeffer and her assistants. The models were accessorized by the staff, who also brought stock from the store to sell.

Tom still has and always will have sand in his shoes and returned to the old homestead, now owned by David and Melissa Goslin, to celebrate his 90th birthday on Aug. 28. Many members of the community were there with David and Melissa to be part of the celebration for Tom.
