The Wildwood Crest Parent-Teacher Connection recently held its third annual Wine and Craft Beer tasting at the Grand Hotel in Cape May. One hundred and twenty tickets to the event were sold in advance.
Kim Sorensen and Tami Bradley did a great deal of work to make the night a success. Adding to the festivities there were food stations set up throughout the bar area. Our host Bob Belansen was there with several friends and made sure that everything moved smoothly.
Bill Feraco of “Joe Canal’s Wines and Spirits “ in Rio Grande had many sales people and wine distributors at the event. Beverages were not sold during the tasting.
Many in the community were involved with the success of the evening including such donors as Ambiance Beauty Salon, Bradley’s Bikes, Alfe’s Restaurant, Wildwood Magazine, Crest Shirt Shop, and Little Italy Restaurant, to name a few.
Among those I saw at the tasting were Jackie Gillen, Joanne and Melissa Rucci, Susan Haury, Jeannine and Kevin Yecco, Barbie Cleffi, Carol Saldutti and Sherri Carranante. Carol Saldutti works at the law firm of Kay and Kay, in Wildwood. Recently Joanne Kay was taken ill and we all wish she has a very speedy recovery.
Mary Nell Murphy was with her mother-in-law Margot Murphy, and Danelle Ward, Sherri Reid, Brittany Toland, Jill McGough, and Lisa Harkins sparked up the night when they posed for the camera.
John McGuire has been at this tasting all three years and his expertise is well known in our area. He was there representing Federal Wine and Liquors. We were all able to sample Cabernet Sauvigon, Malbec, Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc, and many more, as well as several craft beers.
Barry and Dana Gehring were present as well as Cindy and Vincent Tenaglia, Jerry and Christine D’Antonio, and Jim and Jackie Johnson. Mark and Linda Tomlin were also there. Tom and Barb Hunt, Chaz and Holly Hunt came as did Ben and Shelia Lauriello. Tara Vallese was with husband Joe, and Kelly Hamlin posed with husband Bruce and good friend Kathleen Chiolo.
John and Vicki Lynch stopped to speak to Dean Cordivari and get advice on his wines. Mary O’Donnell from Crest Memorial School was with Betty Ann Ranalli, and posed with Andrea Ferry and Tracey Neri. Frank and Lori Basile were speaking with Erin and Bud Morey at the party (Lori is very active in PTC activities), DJ Ronnie B provided music for the night and this year there was no snow.
