WILDWOODWildwood to unlock the ocean -  The Wildwoods will officially kick off the 2014 season at the Unlocking of the Ocean Ceremony and the unveiling of their first Wildwoods Icon Wall Mural at noon on Friday, May 23 on the beach at Roberts Avenue. A large, ornate key will be used to ‘unlock’ the ocean and open the summer season.

WILDWOOD -  International Kite Festival starts 9 p.m. Friday with an illuminated kite fly on the beach at Rio Grande Avenue and continues all day Saturday and Sunday with stunt kite championships, exhibits, workshops and kite and collectibles auction 7 p.m. Saturday in the Convention Center. WILDWOOD - Regional Gymnastics Championships Friday, May 23 from 9 a.m.- 9 p.m.; Saturday, May 24 from 9 a.m.-9 p.m.; and Sunday, May 25 from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. at the Wildwood Convention Center. More than 600 athletes will compete on the floor, balance beam, uneven bars, and vault. Admission for each event is $15 for adults and $10 for children. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door. See .

WILDWOOD - Boardwalk Craft Show 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. on the boardwalk at Rio Grande Avenue, Wildwood. The show will feature all handmade products. See .

WILDWOOD - Remembrance Ceremony 8 p.m. at the Wildwood Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, Fox Park, 4500 Ocean Drive, Wildwood. All are invited to a candlelight vigil to honor active, fallen and stateside troops and veterans. Hosted by the Vietnam Veterans Chapter no. 955 and the American Legion Post no. 184. A motorcycle procession will precede the ceremony – departing from Rio Grande at 7:15 p.m. See .

Monday, May 26 

North Wildwood Memorial Day Service is 10 a.m. at the North Wildwood Veterans Monument at Spruce and New York avenues. North Wildwood Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5941 and the city of North Wildwood will honor fallen soldiers. There will also be a service 9:30 a.m. at the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse flagpole where the names of VFW Post 5941 members deceased since last Memorial Day will be read and their service honored. Wildwood Memorial Day Service will begin 11 a.m. at Wildwood American Legion Post 184, 4200 Atlantic Ave., Wildwood.
