Thanks for the love extended to our dear daughter

To the editor:

We are writing to publicly extend our love and gratitude to the management and staff of the Little Italy restaurant in Wildwood Crest.  Over the nine years our daughter Fiona McKechnie worked there, even on the busiest days, Fiona considered Little Italy her ‘other home.’  Pancreatic cancer took Fiona from us all on 17 March 2013;  at 41 such a loss, far too soon.  Everyone at Little Italy has been a source of great strength and comfort to us.

To the editor,

A news article on baggy pants, etc., appeared in our local newspaper a few weeks ago, courtesy of the Associated Press.

I totally agree with your town mayor, and I was prompted to compose this short verse on the subject. Several friends here thought you might enjoy a copy:

offensive t-shirts

OK, so now I’m offended.

It’s actually a little ironic. About a year ago, I wrote a column about people who took offense to a T-shirt on the Ocean City boardwalk. Licensed by a popular television comedy, the shirt included a Latin word that has often been used as a euphemism for sexual intercourse.

Felt unsafe in Wildwood for the first time

To the editor,

I have to say, this weekend was horrible on the boardwalk.

I own a home in Wildwood and have never felt unsafe. This weekend, I felt like I was on constant guard. There were gangs of teenagers running wild with no respect for families or children. The smell of marijuana was everywhere, even inside the Five and Below store on the boardwalk. There was also a fight was getting ready to take place there.

Boardwalk dress code is overdue

To the editor,

I read the article about proper attire on the Wildwood boardwalk. I think it's a great idea and long overdue. I remember, back in the day, when you couldn't even come up from the beach to get something to eat without shoes and a shirt.  That's how it should still be…what happened to that rule?
