Wildwood incumbents returned to BOE

WILDWOODS – In North Wildwood, voters chose school board incumbents Via Zampirri, Victoria Rozanski, and Laura Stefankiewicz over challengers Karen Bohme and Shannon Grace Kelly for three, three-year terms.

Zampiri is the current vice president of the school board, and she has been on the board for seven years. She received 635 votes.

She said she decided to join the board to make sure that the students were getting the best education they can. Zampiri said that Margaret Mace School is exceptional at providing classes for every type of student, from additional advanced placement classes to additional help for struggling students.

Rozanski also successfully ran for another term this year, after serving two years on the school board. She received 550 votes.

She said she works in the North Wildwood Recreation Department, and working with kids at afterschool activities inspired her to continue her involvement with the board.

Stefankiewicz, another current board member, was also reelected for a three year term with 712 votes.

Bohme received 361 votes and Kelly earned 505 votes.

School board member Gerald Flanagan ran unopposed for an unexpired one-year term on the board. He received 833 votes.

In Wildwood Crest, William “Bud” Morey and James Bradley won the two available school board seats over Eric Garrabrant.

Garrabrant and Morey are new candidates for the board. They faced incumbent Bradley for two seats with full three-year terms.

Morey is a life-long resident of Wildwood Crest and works in the Middle Township School District as technical director of the school’s performing arts department. Bradley has served on the board for more than 10 years, and originally became involved after working as a D.A.R.E. officer at the Crest’s schools.

Morey received 832 votes, Bradley had 574 votes and Garrabrant had 574 votes.

There was no petition filed for one unexpired two-year seat in the borough’s school board.

In Wildwood, Robert Todd Kieninger, Carol Bannon and Ernest Troiano III were elected to three, three-year terms to the city’s school board.

Kieninger received 530 votes, Carol Bannon earned 544 and Troiano received 600.
