Guns, TVs and more taken in Crest burglaries

WILDWOOD CREST – A Middle Township man has been arrested in connection with recent burglaries in Wildwood Crest.
Authorities say Jamal Woodson, 37, attempted to sell several stolen items at a local pawn shop.
After executing search warrants, authorities recovered firearms, flat-screen TVs and electronics stolen from two Wildwood Crest residents in the last week, according to press release from the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office.
Woodson has been charged with burglary, a third-degree crime; theft, a third-degree crime; and certain persons not to possess a firearm, a second-degree crime.
He was taken to the Cape May County Jail on $150,000 full cash bail.
The investigation continues, and additional charges may be brought against Woodson.
Involved in the investigation were the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, Wildwood Crest, Wildwood and Middle and Lower townships police departments.
A person convicted of a second-degree crime can spend up to 10 years in state prison and third-degree crimes carry up to five years in state prison.
