Lynch and the Grinch

WILDWOOD — For the past four years volunteers with the Lunch With Lynch Foundation, have held a toy, coat and food drive in the Wildwoods.
They call it, “The Lynch who Stole Christmas from the Grynch.”
John Lynch said he aims to eliminate any “grinchyness” this Christmas by inspiring the local community to do the opposite of the devious Dr, Seuss character who tried to pilfer the Christmas spirit and deliver donated gifts to the homes of children in the Wildwoods who may need a little assistance.
In 2010, the drive helped 80 families and in 2011 over 100 families received donations. This year, the number of families that need help is still on the rise, especially considering the economy and Hurricane Sandy, Lynch said.
“The community is in need of more help than ever before,” he said.
The volunteers are collecting age appropriate gifts for boys and girls from age 5 to 17 years-old. They are also in need of new coats and food gift cards to the local Wildwood ACME or Super Fresh.
Toys can be dropped off at various locations on the island including the Wildwoods Convention Center or the Wildwood Fire Department at 4400 New Jersey Avenue. Gifts are needed by Dec. 21.
For more information or to arrange a toy pick up call 609-849-8887 or visit www.LunchWithLynch.com/grinch.
