City police search motel, charge three with drug offenses

WILDWOOD — Police searched three units in a motel and charged three people with drug offenses on Dec. 14.
The Wildwood Police Department’s detective division and the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Gang, Guns and Narcotics Task Force wrapped up a week long drug investigation at three motel units at 416 East 26th Street.
According to a police report, distribution quantities of crack cocaine and $1,700 in cash allegedly from the sale of drugs were found in three units that were searched by police at 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 14.
Michael Bucolo, 33, of Wildwood, who was living in unit 19, Latherese West, 32, of Wildwood, who was living in unit 18 and Leandrea Major, 30, of West Cape May, were arrested and charged with drug related offenses.
A criminal charge is pending against the owner of the property for maintaining a nuisance property, according to police.
Municipal Court Judge Christopher Robertson set bail for Bucolo and West at $35,000 cash or bond. Major was given a summons and released pending a future court appearance.
