The Atlantic City High School boys basketball team and the Mainland Regional girls are the No. 1 seeds for the Cape-Atlantic League Playoff Tournament, which begins Friday, Feb. 16.

The seeding committee, which consists of athletic directors from league schools, released the pairings Tuesday afternoon.

The top-two teams in each of the CAL’s three division automatically qualify for the tournament. There are also two wild-card berths.

The tournament starts Friday with first-round games. The girls semifinals are Wednesday, Feb. 21 at St. Augustine Prep. The boys semifinals are Thursday, Feb. 22 at Absegami. The championship games are Saturday, Feb. 24 at Stockton University.

The tournament began in 2012. The St. Augustine Prep boys and Ocean City girls are the defending champions.

The committee also announced two rounds of CAL consolation games, the first of which will be played Tuesday, Feb. 20.
