Mainland Regional High School junior Gage Grist lived a hockey lover's dream earlier this month, playing alongside other area high school stars against NHL alumni - and all for a great cause.

Grist was chosen to to play in The Center for Autism's fifth annual Winter Classic Charity Hockey Game, featuring the CFA "Puzzlers" against such former Flyers stars as Bob "The Hound" Kelly, Frank "The Animal" Bialowas, Brad Marsh, Joe Watson and Terry Carkner. More than 400 fans came out to watch the event, held March 3 at Flyers Skate Zone in Philadelphia, and all proceeds helped support evaluation and treatment services for children and families in the Philadelphia region.

Grist, of Linwood, plays for the Mainland hockey club and the Atlantic City Sharks youth programs. He helped Mainland win the South Jersey High School Hockey League Tier II-A championship last year.
