Young Mainland team learning, working to make progress

Mainland Regional High School senior Zack Donovan will continue his education and football career at Wagner College in Staten Island, N.Y. The 6-foot-4, 270-pound Donovan, a three-year starter on both offense and defense for Mainland, was recruited to play offensive line for the Seahawks.

Donovan was awarded academic scholarships totaling $35,000 per year from Wagner. He scored a 1370 on his SAT exam and maintains a grade point average of 4.919 weighted, 3.977 unweighted. Along with his studies at Mainland, Zack received credit as an Independent Study Student with the school’s IT Department and achieved several network certifications during his high school career.

Donovan is a two-year winner of the annual Mustangs Offensive Lineman Award and was also selected as a first team all-Cape-Atlantic League Independence Division offensive lineman for the 2017 season. He resides in Linwood with his parents Joe and Linda.
