Catching up with former area high school athletes now competing at the college level:

Jackson Sole (senior-Virginia Tech lacrosse-LCMR) recorded two ground balls and an assist in the Hokies’ 14-13 win over Liberty in the team’s final regular-season game on Saturday. One game earlier, Sole scored his first goal of the season in a 15-9 win over Liberty. Virginia Tech, which plays at the club level, finished the regular season at 13-3 overall, 4-0 in the SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference’s North West Division. Virginia Tech travels to Johns Creek, Ga., this weekend to face Florida in an SELC quarterfinal game. …

Ashley Hunt (freshman-Lourdes lacrosse-LCMR) has scored 16 goals and dished out two assists while started all 14 games for the Gray Wolves. She scored twice in Monday’s 19-4 victory over Madonna. Lourdes, located in Sylvania, Ohio, is 5-9 overall, 4-7 in the Wolverine-Hooiser Athletic Conference. …

Chelsea Bright (senior-Penn State Berks softball-MTHS) went 4 for 6 with two runs scored over both games to help the Nittany Lions sweep a doubleheader against Swarthmore on Tuesday. For the season, the infielder is batting .351 with 11 runs scored and 10 RBI. She leads the team with seven sacrifice hits and has committed just two errors in 41 chances. Penn State Berks (17-7 overall, 11-1 North Eastern Athletic Conference) takes a 13-game winning streak into Saturday’s doubleheader against WilsonCollege. …

Alyssa Lamey (freshman-PhiladelphiaUniversity lacrosse-LCMR) has played in 11 of a possible 12 games, with one start, as a defender for the Rams. She has recorded an assist. Philly U went into Tuesday’s game against Chestnut Hill at 5-7 overall, 3-3 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. …

Carrie Wunder (freshman-Rowan track and field-LCMR) placed seventh in the discus with a throw of 115 feet, 4 inches, at the Greyhound Invitational at MoravianCollege last weekend. Earlier this month, Wunder won the hammer throw with a toss of 121-9 and tied for first place in the discus at a distance of 108-0 for the host Profs in the Oscar Moore Invitational. …

Chris Mormile (freshman-Wagner baseball-WHS) is 1-3 with 25 strikeouts and a 3.94 earned run average in 29.2 innings pitched for the Seahawks. In his last appearance, Mormile gave up two runs in 2.2 innings in a 6-5 win over St. Bonaventure last week. Wagner went into Tuesday’s game against Villanova at 10-17 overall, 2-5 in the Northeast Conference. …

David Hicks (sophomore-William & Mary golf-MTHS) shot 75-77-74—226 to place 75th out of 110 golfers at the Cowboy Classic in Chandler, Ariz., earlier this month. The Tribe finished in 14th place out of 18 teams at the event. William & Mary next competes in the Colonial Athletic Association Championships this weekend in Richmond, Va. …

Gabby Castellini (junior-Rutgers-Camden softball-WCHS) went 1 for 5 over two games as the Scarlet Raptors dropped both ends of a doubleheader against Rowan on Tuesday. For the season, Castellini leads Rutgers-Camden in batting average at .333, at bats with 84, hits with 28 and triples with three and is tied for the team lead in runs scored with 12. Rutgers-Camden is 12-17 overall, 4-7 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. …

Lindsay Lare (senior-Montclair State lacrosse-LCMR) scored three goals and recorded four draw controls in the Red Hawks’ 17-5 win over Ramapo on Tuesday. For the season, Lare leads MontclairState with 30 goals and is second in draw controls with 23. The Red Hawks go into Friday’s game at Stockton at 9-4 overall, 2-1 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. …

James Cella (freshman-Wesley lacrosse-LCMR), a goalie, stopped 17 shots in goal in a 14-9 loss to Southern Virginia last weekend in the team’s final game of the 2017 season. Earlier this month, Cella stopped a season-high 26 shots in a 19-4 loss to Christopher Newport. For the season, Cella started all 16 games and has made 238 saves while posting a save percentage of .509. Wesley finished 4-12 overall, 0-8 in the Capital Athletic Conference. …

Tyler Norris (junior-Cabrini baseball-WCHS) is batting .354 – tops on the team among players with at least 25 at bats – and is second on the team with 17 runs scored. He has struck out just eight times in 65 at bats. Cabrini, a first-year program, is 9-13 overall, 3-9 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference. …

Ariel Magee (sophomore-Chestnut Hill softball-LCMR) leads the Griffins in batting average at .384, home runs with six, RBI with 16, runs scored with 23 and extra-base hits with 12 through 28 games. Chestnut Hill went into Tuesday’s doubleheader against ConcordiaCollege at 9-23 overall, 8-9 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference. …

Cole Blackley (freshman-Kean lacrosse-LCMR) recorded an assist in the Cougars’ 9-5 win at CasteltonUniversity (Vt.) on Saturday. For the season, Blackley is third on the team with 16 goals and fourth on the team with 18 points. Kean (7-6 overall, 4-3 NJAC) was scheduled to face Stockton on Wednesday. …

Erik Arenberg (freshman-Stevenson baseball-MTHS) is 2-0 with a save in 15.2 innings pitched for the Mustangs. He has appeared in eight games, with two starts, and has struck out 14 batters. Stevenson entered Wednesday’s game at CatholicUniversity at 14-18 overall, 6-9 in the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth Division. …

Kevin O’Donnell (senior-Chestnut Hill golf-MTHS) shot 80-79—159 to finish tied for 38th out of 61 competitors at the St. Thomas Aquinas Spring Invitational at Rum Pointe Seaside Golf Links in Berlin, Md., last week. Chestnut Hill placed seventh out of 10 teams. Earlier this month, O’Donnell helped lead the Griffins to a second-place finish among Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference members at the ACE Club Quad hosted by Philadelphia University by tying for 11th place with a 7-over-par 79. …

Taylor Franchville (sophomore-Cabrini softball-MTHS) has five hits in 11 at bats over her last three appearances and is batting .333 with two doubles and eight RBI for the season. The catcher has seen action in 12 games, with 10 starts. Cabrini is 13-17 overall, 11-3 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference.
