MARMORA – First-graders at the Upper Township Primary School held their annual concert Thursday, Jan. 10 with a performance of soccer-themed songs for family members. The kids performed for fellow students the day before.

Music teacher Amy Lord, who teaches at the primary and elementary schools, said this was the first time her students had tackled a soccer theme. She said it turned out very well and she hopes to use it again in a few years.

Students sang several songs about soccer and the importance of having fun. Some boys and girls talked about Pele, the Brazilian soccer star, and how soccer is called football in much of the world.
