WILDWOOD — Cape Regional Health System recently announced the opening of a new urgent care center at 406 Rio Grande Ave.

The center features 10 patient suites, digital X-rays, electronic medical records and a children's reading and play area, Cape Regional said in a news release.

Urgent care centers accept walk-in patients and generally treat injuries and illnesses that don't require a trip to the emergency room or a primary care doctor's office, the release said.

Cape Regional also operates an urgent care center at 11 Court House-South Dennis Road in Middle Township.

“The new Wildwood facility, along with our Cape May Court House facility, are designed to meet the health care needs of our local and visiting families, providing excellent care for non-life-threatening emergencies — without the wait," Cape Regional Urgent Care medical director John Ruskey said in a statement. "It’s one-stop comprehensive quality care.”

The urgent care facility is open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week, the release said.

Cape Regional said physicians at its urgent care centers are board certified and have extensive experience, and most insurance plans are accepted. For information call 609-465-6364 or see caperegionalurgentcare.com.
