Ripley’s maze Wildwood

WILDWOOD — An attraction featuring a candy-themed labyrinth with thousands of mirrors has opened on the Wildwoods Boardwalk near Poplar Avenue.

A collaboration between Morey's Piers and Ripley Entertainment, Ripley's Mirror Maze is a rebranding of the Wildwood Mirror Maze, which opened in 2010 as a partnership between Morey's and former Ripley Entertainment President Robert Masterson.

The maze, which has been given a new facade and signage, is in a building that also contains The Vault Laser Maze and an interactive game called Time Freak.

A grand opening ceremony to celebrate the partnership is scheduled for noon-2 p.m. Friday, July 14.

Sideshow performers from Ripley's will be on hand for the grand opening, and there will be free access to the maze, snacks and beverages, according to a press release.

Guests can also spin Ripley’s Wheel of Fortune to win prizes, organizers said. Admission is free but registration is suggested. To register or for information see moreyspiers.com or call 609-522-3900.

Ripley Entertainment, which is based in Orlando, Florida, operates 31 Ripley's Believe it or Not! museums, including one on the Atlantic City Boardwalk. This is the company's first attraction in Wildwood.

“Ripley’s is excited to be partnering with the Morey’s and entering this new market," Ripley Entertainment President Jim Pattison Jr. said in the release. "The Moreys have been bringing family fun to the Boardwalk since the 1950s, and Ripley’s is excited to be a part of this great legacy.”

Ripley's is owned by the Canada-based Jim Patterson Group, which also owns Guinness World Records and the Great Wolf Lodge resort in Niagara Falls, Canada, among other ventures.
